Edward S. Crooks
A lifelong passion and ability for growing wealth
for individuals, families, companies, and institutions, Ed has 32
years of financial and investment experience with specialties in
investment consulting, employee benefits, trusts and estates.
In early 2002, Ed (together with Brian Selby
of ECA Investment Group, Inc.) established Counsel Trust Company.
Ed is the largest shareholder of Counsel Trust.
He formed ECA Investment Group, Inc., a Registered Investment Advisory
firm in 1986 specializing in investment consulting for institutions,
businesses and high net worth individuals. He holds FINRA Series
7, 63, and 65 licenses and a life and annuity insurance license.
From 1978 to 1985 Ed joined a local bank, building
its trust department from $3 million in assets to over $110 million
in trust assets. He was head of the trust department, specializing
in investment management, estate and trust administration and employee
benefit planning.
From 1971 to 1978, Ed served as trust officer
at PennBank Corp., a large bank holding company in western PA where
he specialized in trust administration, probate, tax, and estate
planning.
In 1981, Ed received the ABA National Graduate
Trust degree in Trust Administration at Northwestern University,
Chicago, IL.
In 1977, he received his Master of Business Administration
in Finance and Security Analysis from Clarion University, Clarion,
PA where he later taught portfolio and security analysis courses
in the undergraduate school.
Ed is also a graduate of the Pennsylvania Bankers
Association Trust School at Bucknell University, Lewisburg, PA in
1974.
He is a 1971 graduate of Grove City College,
Grove City, PA, with dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in History and
Economics
Brian D. Selby
Enhancing the Counsel Trust team, Brian brings
22 years of investment management experience as a portfolio manager
for businesses, institutions, and significant individual accounts.
Brian also has specialties in employee benefit and trust administration.
In early 2002, Brian (together with Ed Crooks
of ECA Investment Group, Inc.) established Counsel Trust Company.
Brian is a significant shareholder of Counsel Trust.
Brian joined ECA Investment Group, Inc. in 1997
as a partner in the firm with Ed Crooks. Previous to joining ECA,
Brian served as portfolio manager at Allfirst Trust Company (formerly
York Bank & Trust Co.). He was promoted to the bank holding
companys Investment Advisory Firm in Baltimore, MD where he
managed $300 million in equity and fixed income assets.
Prior to his York Bank years, Brian also managed
the investment division of a local $80 million bank trust department.
He received his Charter Financial Analyst (CFA)
designation in 1990 and holds FINRA Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses.
Brian is also a graduate of the Pennsylvania
Bankers Association Trust School at Bucknell University, Lewisburg,
PA in 1983.
In 1980, Brian graduated from York College, York,
PA, with dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Business Administration
and Banking/Finance.
A member of the Baltimore Security Analyst Society,
Brian also taught trust and investment classes for the American
Institute of Banking in York, PA.
David L. Dolan
David has 20 years of experience in design, implementation,
administration and investment of employee benefit programs. Dave
also has experience with managing investment portfolios for individuals.
In 2002, Dave joined ECA Investment Group, Inc.
as a principal and consultant. He holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses.
In 2003, Dave became a principal of Counsel Trust
Company. In 2004, Dave was named President of Counsel Trust. He
has been an integral part of Counsel's formation and growth. Dave
is a shareholder in Counsel Trust Company.
Mr. Dolan served as a managing director of a
$330 million trust department from 1996 through 2002 where he was
responsible for the fixed income and equity management of the department.
Dave received his Charter Financial Planning,
CFP designation in 1991.
He graduated from Pennsylvania Bankers Association
Trust School at Bucknell University, Lewisburg, PA in 1989.
From 1987 through 1996, he held various positions
of management at York Bank & Trust Co., York PA.
He graduated from Elizabethtown College, Elizabethtown,
PA in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration
with concentrations in accounting and finance.
Mr. Dolan taught trust and investment classes
for the local American Institute of Banking Chapter.
Bonnie M. Stiles
Bonnie has more than 28 years of experience in
trust management and operations involving the processing of securities,
cash and other assets for major bank trust divisions.
She joined Counsel Trust Company in 2003 as Trust Operations Manager. In 2004 she was named Chief Compliance & Operating Officer of both Counsel Trust Company and ECA Investment Group, Inc. Bonnie is a shareholder in Counsel Trust Company.
From 1996 to 2003 Bonnie served as Vice President
& Trust Services Manager for M&T Investments (formerly Allfirst Trust Company), Baltimore, MD.
In 1988, she graduated from Pennsylvania Bankers
Association Trust School at Bucknell University, Lewisburg, PA.
From 1975 to 1996 she held various management
positions in the trust operations department of Allfirst Trust Company
(formerly York Bank & Trust Co.), York, PA.
Bonnie has taken numerous trust & compliance courses over the years.
David W. Wells
David oversees 401k fund diagnostics and performance
tracking for ECA Investment Group, Inc., as well as assisting the
principals in investment management and consulting. Dave serves
on the management committee of Counsel Trust Company.
In early 2002, David participated in the formation
and growth of Counsel Trust Company. Dave is a shareholder in Counsel
Trust.
Prior to joining ECA Investment Group, Inc. in
1999, David was an administrator at UTZ Potato Chip Company and
a commercial lending officer with Farmers Bank and Trust Co. of
Hanover, PA.
As a 1991 graduate of Miami University of Ohio,
David holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance. He also holds FINRA
Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses.
Wanda Chilcoat
Wanda has over 26 years of commercial and trust
banking experience. She has specific expertise in trust accounting
and tax preparation. She joined Counsel Trust in 2004 as trust administrator
and principal. Wanda oversees all trust account reviews and assists
Dave Dolan in
trust company administration.
From 1999 to 2005, Wanda served as a trust administrator
and trust officer of a local bank trust department.
From 1995 to 1999 she was a trust administrative
assistant at Allfirst Trust Company (formerly York Bank & Trust
Co.), York, PA. Wanda served as a security processing supervisor
and in commercial operations from 1978 to 1995 at York Bank &
Trust Co.
In 1996, she graduated from Pennsylvania Bankers
Association Trust School at Bucknell University, Lewisburg, PA.
Wanda is also a graduate of the Cannon Financial Institute. In addition,
she attended York College of Pennsylvania.
Geoffrey M. Platt
Geoff has more than seventeen years of investment management and trust administration experience as a financial advisor for businesses, institutions and high net worth individuals. In addition, Geoff has significant experience in the design, implementation, administration and investment management of qualified retirement plans. He also has experience in developing estate, financial and retirement plans for high net worth individuals.
In 2007, Geoff joined ECA Investment Group, Inc. as a principal and consultant. Prior to joining ECA Geoff served as a vice president and senior financial advisor at Sterling Financial Trust Company. During his years at Sterling he served in a number of managerial capacities in addition to managing a diverse client base where he was responsible for than $65 million in client assets.
Prior to his Sterling Financial Trust Company years, Geoff served as an employee benefits trust officer for Fulton Bank where he was responsible for more than $50 million in client assets.
He received his Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation in 1997 and his Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation in 2005. He holds FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses. Geoff also holds a PA Insurance license for life, health, fixed and variable annuities.
Geoff is a 1993 honors graduate of the Pennsylvania Bankers Association Trust School at Bucknell University, Lewisburg, PA. He also graduated from the Cannon Financial Trust School at the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, IN in 2005.
In 1989 Geoff graduated from the Pennsylvania State University, Harrisburg, PA with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance.
Richard H. Brown
With more than 36 years of trust and investment management experience, Dick joined Counsel Trust Company / ECA Investment Management Group in 2006 as a Principal and Senior Advisor. He is focusing primarily on investment management and financial relationship management services for high net worth individuals. He is also actively seeking ways to help expand our market area through identification of additional highly motivated and talented associates to join our companies.
Dick’s first 30 years were spent with the former York Bank and Trust Company (Now M&T Bank) where he specialized in pension and profit sharing plan administration, corporate trust administration, marketing, and new business development. He served as Executive Vice President and Division Head from 1983 until 1998, successfully guiding the trust and investment team through five significant corporate mergers and reorganizations.
Continuing his trust and investment focus, he served as Senior Vice President with Hershey Trust Company from 1999-2000 and as Vice President & York Market Manager for Sterling Financial Trust Company from 2002-2006.
Dick is a 1966 graduate of University of Maryland having attained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.
He is also a graduate of the National Graduate Trust School at Northwestern University and the Executive Financial Services Graduate Program at the University of Michigan Kellogg School of Management.
Dick has been and continues to be extremely active in the York Community. He has served as board chair for the United Way of York County, York County Community Foundation, York Hospital, South George Street Community Partnership, to name a few. He currently serves on the boards of WellSpan Health and WellSpan Medical Group.
